NEW SINGLE “Falling away” AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE

As a followup to the vibey, yet introspective, bop "High Horse," (Premiered by Afropunk) Jonathan Singletary goes deeper into his exploration of real, complicated, love with the single "Falling Away" (mp3 attached). A world unto itself, the record eerily matches the tone of the times as we all reckon with all we've come to know changing before our eyes...(More Below)

"I think I've always been fascinated with romantic relationships because they're both mirrors and teachers for our relationships with everything and everyone around us. We're forced to wrestle with conflicting perceptions of reality and attachments to expectations within a backdrop of unpredictable yet inevitable change. Our sense of entitlement or attachment to what a relationship is supposed to be is directly analogous to our attachment to the way we thought we'd always live, work, play, and socialize - all things we're being forced to reconsider right now. If we're not careful, we wind up falling away from a past long-gone, unwittingly. A fate that inevitably leaves us in a sunken place. If we're vigilant and aware, we can release our grip on what has been and journey into our future with hopeful expectation. This song is a reckoning and processing of a release from the old into the new."

Sonically, Jonathan returned to his High Horse co-writer/producer Charles Myers & mixing engineer Dylan Byrnes to create an epic landscape reminiscent of Coldplay and Jacob Banks with emotive 80s drums and synths that send you running, falling, and floating through a montage of love, loss, hope, and heartbreak. Though it stands apart from the feel-good vibe of High Horse, the throughline stays consistent with the continued exploration of love's inevitable conflict.
